President's Corner July was a busy month for Daughters of the King. Several DOK members in the Diocese of Florida attended Triennial and were fed spiritually by our own Bishop Jecko, the National Chaplain, who led all of the worship services and delivered each homily. We have posted a few highlights about Triennial, but I also want to tell you a few things. First, all the amendments on membership were tabled and sent back to the National Counsel. Second, dues were raised to $35.00 for Senior Daughters and $15.00 for Junior Daughters effective 9/1/2003. Lifetime dues were raised from $500.00 to $700.00. Please make a note of this change if you plan to pay your dues after September 1st. If paying before, the old rate is still in effect. Also remember that the dues envelope was in the last issue of the Royal Cross. Notices or envelopes will not be sent to you in the mail. I am sure that all of you are well informed concerning the actions at General Convention. What is our role? Prayer, prayer, prayer for all parties involved. In addition, please remain calm and seek counsel from your clergy or our chaplain, Canon Pete Wait as needed. Never before has the church needed our prayers more than they do today. Please pray and especially lift up our Bishop, Steven Jecko as he faithfully seeks God’s counsel and pastors to the Diocese of Florida.
