to all Diocesan DOK membe
rs

At the DOK Assembly on April 24th at St. John's Cathedral, Bishop John Howard asked all Daughters to pray for Unity in the Diocese of Florida, so that we may achieve our goal of being the best Diocese in the Episcopal Church.

All chapters are urged to send the Bishop a note of encouragement and let him know how your chapter is supporting his call for unity in the Diocese.

Thank you Daughters for your generous contributions at the Spring Assembly.  DOK has donated $1,000 to the Snell /McCarty Youth Pavilion Fund at Camp Weed.

Thanks to St. John's Cathedral for hosting the Spring Assembly.

Request for Prayer for Rev. Pete Wait, Chaplain

The Rev. Pete Wait, our Diocesan Chaplain, will be traveling to Jordan and Turkey, from May 4-15, as part of his work with Anglican Frontier Missions.  He will be visiting missionaries in those countries to support and teach them as they do their work of planting the Gospel message.  Please pray for Pete and the missionaries during this time.

He and his wife, Shirleen, will also be traveling to Jordan and China in October.  For more information on how you can support the Wait's in their journeys and missionary work, click here to read a letter detailing their plans.

Pentecost Sunday, May 30 was the in-gathering for the Master's Fund.

The need is urgent if we are to meet our goal of funding all qualifying applicants. This year we have 100 applicants, of which 22 are persons continuing their studies. There are 78 new applicants, a large number being from Province IV.  Currently the Master's Fund has $73,000 to distribute. Grants for continuing students have been approved. The other are to be submitted to the National Council for approval. In order to meet our goal of funding all eligible applicants, the Fund needs an additional $30,000.  The Diocese of Florida has made a special donation of $500 in support of the Masters Fund.
