OUR ALABASTER BOX

Dear sisters,

It is with much love and great respect that I write to you as PRESIDENT OF THE Diocese of Florida Daughters of the King We have so much to be thankful for. In this world of uncertain events, disappointments and misunderstandings we can still rejoice, love and celebrate life. All these things we can do because we know our Father is the one true God and is always with us. So let us be jubilant and let our spirits rejoice in God our Savior knowing that He will never leave us.

We are women of the gospel we know and love Him and He knows and loves us. Whatever dilemma we might be in our Father is right there to help. He does not always help the way we want Him to but He is always there to ease our burdens. God invariably does what is best for us. All we need to do is wait, follow His word, trust and obey Him.

What a wonderful Father we have. With this blessing there is an obligation for us to let others know about this awesome God. The Almighty holds us accountable for Praying for others and serving others. He wants our lives to be a tribute to Him.

The next three years our theme will be GIVING OUR ALABASTER BOX OF PRAYER SERVICE AND EVANGELISM. The alabaster box has become a symbol of surrender and devotion to God. Let us pour our prayers, our service and evangelism like oil from Mary’s alabaster box, to spread his kingdom and gather his scattered sheep. I anticipate the joy of working with you the next three years. I look forward with pleasure in all the friendships that will develop out of the relationships we will have in the coming years. Let us work with an open and prayerful heart to achieve the objectives of The Daughters of the King.

THE ALABASTER BOX
The alabaster box of my heart was broken one day
On the altar of service, there the precious ointment lay
Dedicated to my Lord-fervent and sincere
I gave it all to him, and the cost was so dear
The sacrifice was offered, well pleasing to God
I presented it with tears, and a soul that was awed.
Thank you Lord for your plan that includes even me
And in reasonable service, my life is broken for thee
- Jerry (Gerald) Boney

May God’s blessing shine on you everyday. I pray that I will see each of you within the next three years.

For His Sake,

Metro Griffith.

Daughters, let us pray for our Church!

In Times of Conflict
O God, you have bound us together in a common life.  Help us, in the midst of our struggles for justice and truth, to confront one another without hatred or bitterness and to work together with mutual forbearance and respect; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

For Our Bishops
O Father, give to our Bishops, in the midst of the stresses of their position a daily renewal in your presence that upheld in your peace, enlightened by your word, and strengthened by your grace, they may be true shepherds enabling your church to fulfill the mission you have given us, for Jesus’ sake.  Amen

For a Renewed Church
Almighty God, give us a new vision of you, of your love, of your grace and power; and then, give us a new vision of what you would have us do as your church in this nation at this time, and an awareness that in the strength of your Spirit we can do it, to your glory, In Jesus name.  Amen

Prayer of Self-Dedication
Almighty and eternal God, so draw our hearts to you, so guide our minds, so fill our imaginations, so control our wills, that we may be wholly yours, utterly dedicated unto you; and then use us, we pray, as you will, and always to your glory through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen
