Meet Metro Smith-Griffith, President

DOK Involvement

Metro Smith-Griffith’s commitment to The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK), Bishop Weed chapter during the last six years resulted in her election as President DOK, Diocese of Florida.

As a former educator, Metro continues to teach the church community the values incorporated in the mission of the DOK, being an extension of Christ’s Kingdom through prayer, service and evangelism.

Metro’s numerous roles at St. Philip’s church and the Diocese comprise of such positions as Lay Eucharistic Minister, President of the Bishop Weed DOK and Vice President of the Diocese of Florida ECW. She is dedicated to leading the DOK in a triumphant procession proclaiming their love for Christ.

She doesn’t have a lot of time to spare but when it does happen Metro enjoys gardening and spending time with her four children and three grandchildren.

Family
Metro's husband was Emanuel Griffith, who served as the administrator of St. Philip's. Emanuel passed away last year. She has four children. Metro has three grand children -- Joseph, Michael and Ashley. She has no  pets of her own, but "I am a grandmother to a Rottweiler  named Waldo."
Favorite Restaurant
Her favorite restaurant is any good seafood restaurant.
What Metro loves to do
Loves working in her yard, something she doesn't have much time to do.
Last book read
The last book Metro read was Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.
What most people don't know about me
Forty two years ago, Metro was a high school orchestral director.
