Triennial Convention Highlights

Several Daughters from our Diocese attended the Daughters of the King Triennial Conference held in Minneapolis, the week prior to the overall convention for the entire ECUSA. The theme of the DOK Conference was “Streams of Living Water” and featured the author, Richard Foster, as the Keynote speaker each day.

Over 600 daughters from all over the world attended the Conference.  Our own Bishop, The Right Reverend Stephen H. Jecko was in attendance as the National Chaplain for the Daughters of the King,

Each morning began with Eucharist and a thought provoking lesson in Christianity from the Bishop.  This was followed by a forum presented by leading author, Richard Foster and Emilie Griffin on prayer, life in the church and spirituality.  The forums opened with a beautiful presentation given by Felicia Smith Graybeal on a person in history who aligned with a particular stream.  In the afternoons, there were breakout sessions, everything from making your own Episcopalian Rosary, how to meditate, leadership and Franciscan Spirituality. Each evening offered the opportunity to attend programs and socialize with other Daughters, clergy and spouses.

The opportunity for so many of our Daughters to attend this interesting conference was an experience many of us will not forget!  Pictures can be found here!  Also check the President's Corner for a few more highlights.
